What is Manual Handling?

-The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 ( MHOR 92 - amended 2002 ) apply to all Manual Handling operations defined as "any transporting or supporting of a load by hand or bodily force ( including the Lifting, Putting down, Pushing, Pulling, Carrying or Moving thereof )

Back pain caused by Manual Handling injuries is one of the biggest causes of employee time off work in the UK, it is associated with more over 7 day Reportable injuries to the HSE ( RIDDOR ) than any other work based task.
